Hi!

I’m DeeAnn, The Victory Garden Gal.

I decided to start the Victory Garden Gal because I’ve had to be a lot of things: student, wife, mom, grandmother, nurse, accountant, chauffeur, project manager, career woman, sister, daughter, friend and Child of God-just to name a few; but one thing that has always brought me joy (and sometimes solitude-some kids don’t like weeding) is my garden. Now, as we navigate a new normal, a Victory Garden really makes sense.

I’m a mom of 4 and a MiMi to 2. We’ve lived all over the US and in Japan and Germany because the military wanted us to go. Since my husband retired we moved to North Carolina and I can add that I’m a Pirate mom (Go ECU!)

My education is in nursing. I’m an RN with a specialty in Clinical Trials and I love sharing ways to enjoy greenspace even if your space is tiny. (Florence Nightingale believed that fresh air and flowers would help speed healing) I’m also an avid reader, essential oil fan, coffee enthusiast, and new bee keeper!

My favorite vacation is anywhere my family is- but they humor me often and we visit a lot of gardens.
